Negative Space II

This is my cousin. She looks younger than she actually is, which is a good thing. I got so many good shots from her portrait session. I initially wanted to post this shot in color. But then I tried black and white and I saw a highkey portrait and an appropriate use of negative space. Black and white tends to remove the color distraction so you can absorb and think more about the model and what was going on.

Exposure Time: 1/200 sec
Aperture: f 2.5
ISO: 200
Focal Length: 85 mm

  • oh yeah she looks so young and in fact it doesn't look like her. This shot is quite sharp with only f2.5. What did you use for a background?

  • I think she looks as she is. It is good portrait of her and am sure she will happy about being her.

  • I shot this outside. Background was a front yard consitsted of trees. But the background was overexposed so I could easily remove the background and fill with white color.
